1. Our Commitment

ifp-labs GmbH is committed to ensuring that our website ifp-labs.com is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We strive to provide an inclusive digital experience that enables all users to access our content, services, and information without barriers.

We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which is the standard referenced by the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882), the German Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG), and the UK Equality Act 2010.

2. Legal Framework

European Union / Germany

The Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) came into force in Germany on June 28, 2025, implementing the European Accessibility Act (EAA). The BFSG requires that certain products and digital services made available to consumers are designed to be accessible. While the BFSG primarily applies to consumer-facing (B2C) services, ifp-labs is committed to meeting accessibility standards across our digital presence regardless of whether our services are formally within the scope of the BFSG.

The applicable technical standard is EN 301 549, which incorporates WCAG 2.1 Level AA for web content.

United Kingdom

The UK Equality Act 2010 requires all service providers – both public and private sector – to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that people with disabilities are not placed at a substantial disadvantage when accessing services, including digital services. The accepted standard for demonstrating compliance is WCAG 2.1 Level AA (or the current version, WCAG 2.2 Level AA).

3. Accessibility Measures

We take the following measures to ensure accessibility of ifp-labs.com:

Organizational measures:

  • Accessibility is considered in our website design and development processes
  • Our web development team is briefed on WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements
  • We conduct periodic accessibility reviews and audits
  • We provide a feedback mechanism for users to report accessibility barriers (see Section 5)

Technical measures we aim to implement:

  • Semantic HTML structure with appropriate heading hierarchy
  • Sufficient color contrast between text and background (minimum ratio 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text (alt attributes)
  • Full keyboard navigability for all interactive elements
  • Focus indicators visible on all focusable elements
  • Form fields with associated labels
  • Responsive design that functions across screen sizes and devices
  • Compatibility with commonly used assistive technologies, including screen readers (e.g. JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver)
  • Skip-navigation links for efficient keyboard navigation
  • No content that flashes more than three times per second
  • Sufficient touch target sizes for mobile interaction

4. Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, certain parts of the Website may not yet fully conform with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Known limitations currently include:

Area IssuePlanned remediation
PDF documents (dispatch notes, request forms) Some downloadable PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen readers. They may lack proper tagging, reading order, or alternative text for images. We are working to create accessible PDF versions and/or provide equivalent HTML content.
Embedded maps If embedded map widgets are used, they may not be fully keyboard navigable. We provide text-based address information as an alternative.
Third-party content Certain third-party tools or widgets integrated into the Website (e.g. cookie consent banners, analytics scripts, embedded video players) may have accessibility limitations that are outside our direct control. We work with third-party providers who commit to accessibility standards and replace non-compliant tools where possible.
Image placeholders During the current development phase, some image areas contain placeholder content that may lack descriptive alt text. All placeholders will be replaced with final images and proper alt text before full launch.
Client portal (LIMS) [If applicable:] The client portal / LIMS system may have limited accessibility for certain assistive technologies. We are evaluating accessibility improvements for the portal.

We actively work to identify and resolve accessibility issues. This list is updated as issues are identified and remediated.
